Overview

Ibo Island Lodge is situated on the Indian Ocean paradise of Ibo Island, just north of the small town of Pemba in the pristine Quirimbas Archipelago, Northern Mozambique. One comes across vast stretches of soothing beaches and explores some of the world's richest coral reefs. The lodge helps you discover a coastline fringed by tropical islands where romantic dhows sail out to sea on each high tide. Ibo Island offers all the ingredients of paradise and a journey to an era quite forgotten. One can simply relax, refresh the senses and soak up the romantic atmosphere.

The lodge includes magnificent mansions each over one hundred years old rehabilitated for immense comfort and style. The mansions of Ibo Island Lodge are called Villa Paradiso, Villa Niassa and Villa Bela Vista. Accommodation is divided between Paradiso and Niassa. Bela Vista is the public area of the lodge and houses the Lodge's restaurant, shop and the main pool in the gardens. The bedrooms at the lodge are created specially keeping in mind the luxury requirements of the guests and have a unique ambiance. Many of the rooms open out onto a private veranda. The rooms also house hand crafted furniture and soft & cozy cushions covered in bright local fabrics.

Ibo Island lodge restaurant and bar is brilliantly situated on the roof terrace of the Bela Vista mansion with a view of unforgettable sunsets over the bay. Cuisine features freshly grown organic vegetables, herbs and fruits from Ibo Island lodge garden project. Traditional Ibo specialties such as fragrant fluffy coconut rice are combined with the freshest of seafood: giant tiger prawns, game fish, crab and lobster. Other excursions include Scuba diving, swimming, snorkeling, Ibo massage spa and relaxing treatments, fishing, kayaking, guided bird walks and the Silver Smiths Project.
